Applicants must be able and willing to work Early Mornings, Afternoons, and Closing shifts. (No Shift is Guaranteed). Hours of operation range from 3 AM - 1:30 AM, candidates must have flexibility.

Job Summary:

Major Responsibilities/Activities

Assisting passengers with mobility issues into and out of wheelchairs, escorting passengers with little or no sight, little or no hearing, and assisting passengers with a variety of disabilities, and on occasion unaccompanied minor children in different ways – Core function (High frequency)

Assisting disabled passengers into and out of aisle chairs – onto and off of aircraft and transfers to/from wheelchairs – on occasion passengers of up to 350 lbs (Medium frequency)
Walking and Pushing wheelchairs for distances of up to 0.5 mile and up and down gradual inclines including jet bridges. Average male passenger weight 200 lbs and female weight 175 lbs. Children under 13, average weight 76 lbs (High frequency)
Assisting with lifting, pulling or carrying (under passenger seat) carry-on bags of up to 40 lbs in addition to passenger (High frequency)
Pushing/Pulling four wheel carts of up to 400 lbs of bags from curb to baggage belt – a distance of up to 500 yards (medium frequency)
Provide baggage assistance at baggage carousels – bending, lifting, pulling, up to 50 lbs (high frequency); up to 70 lbs (medium frequency)and up to 100 lbs (low frequency)
Provide baggage assistance from Curb to Ticket Counter/Check-in and from Baggage carousels to Curb - bending, lifting, pulling, up to 50 lbs (high frequency); up to 70 lbs (medium frequency)and up to 100 lbs (low frequency)
Both of the above performed while pushing wheelchair passenger with one hand and a baggage cart with the other (medium frequency)
Ability to use radios and other electronic media to communicate with one another and to track assignments (High frequency)

Minimum Requirements:

Education; Experience; Licenses/Certifications required

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Fluent in English (Written and Writing)

At least 1-Year of Customer Service Experience

Must have a open and flexible schedule to work any shift, as the Airport is open 24 hrs a day

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to bend, lift, pull, push, climb, walk and perform physical labor

Ability to speak and understand English instructions and communication

Physical capacity to multi task.

Ability to handle occasional stress and customer displeasure without becoming defensive, aggressive or upset

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 200 lbs (Male); 175 lbs (female); Children under 13: 76 lbs with occasional need to assist passengers of up to 350 lbs

Ability to bend, lift and pull bags of up to 50 lbs regularly; 70 lbs occasionally and 100 lbs on occasion

Ability to repetitively perform these functions through the course of a shift.
